When?  Classes meet on Mondays from 6:30 - 8:30 PM following the academic calendar of the University of Mississippi.  Our weekly Conversation Corners meet on Wednesdays from 6:30 - 7:30 PM.
Where?  Former Athletic Office, 1st Floor


About this course...
Practical English for Everyday Use are beginning- and intermediate-level non-credit ESL courses for adults affiliated with the University of Mississippi.

In these courses, students will learn advanced vocabulary and develop their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in English. Additionally, students will improve their grammar and pronunciation to communicate more accurately and effectively in common real-world situations.  Through their English-language studies, students will also gain a better understanding of the cultural differences among their own cultures and that of the United States. 

Upon completion of these courses:

  • Students will be able to listen, speak, read, and write at a high-intermediate level, in common real-world situations;
  • Students will have improved their grammar, pronunciation, and cross-cultural awareness, to communicate more effectively;
  • Students will have developed strategies to communicate in unfamiliar situations; and,
  • Students will have gained a general understanding about using English in the United States.
